The responsibilities of being a king are vast and wide. Not only must a king make sure his subjects are reasonably satisfied, but he must also advance the agenda of his country by forming alliances with other countries that might help his economy and safety. Thus, those with high levels of responsibility might have a hard time falling asleep from time to time.  Regardless of your station in life, if you find that your lack of sleep occurs often or you have difficulty staying asleep, then it is possible that you have insomnia.

Many reasons can contribute to your lack of sleep; they include stress, illness, medication, pain, caffeine, watching TV, and even exercising too late in the evening.

While the causes of insomnia can be endless, some tried and tested remedies can help you achieve a good night’s sleep.

Valerian: This flowering plant has long been used in Eastern medicine for its anti-inflammatory effects as well as its calming abilities. Thus, a cup of this tea can help you get a good night’s sleep.

Passionflower: This plant contains alkaloids, glycosides, flavonoids, and a naturally occurring form of serotonin. This flowering plant is suitable for anxiety, pain, muscle spasms, and sleep.

Lavender: This plant contains linalyl acetate and lavandulyl acetate, both of which have sedative and calming effects.

There are many ways to obtain a good night’s sleep, such as drinking a glass of warm milk and honey at bedtime, decreasing the amount of food you eat before bed, and light therapy, but if your lack of sleep is beginning to affect your mood, work, or relationships, it may be time for a trip to the doctor.
