Pearls For A Pig

Spread the love

Ephesians 5:15 (ISV)
So, then, be careful how you live. Do not be unwise but wise

Is there something you need to do that you keep putting it off? Have you wanted to change your habits because you know some things are not good for you? Has your doctor spoken to you several times about your lab work, but you have decided you are going to live your life the way you want?

There is a saying that the best experience you can ever have is the one you bought and paid for, and just as we may give good advice, we also are the recipients of such advice. Wisdom is present all around us. Smoking causes cancer; heavy drinking can lead to liver problems; a diet of sugary snacks leads to obesity, while a high-fat diet leads to heart disease and other ailments. If we are honest, most of us have lived long enough to see the benefits and the adverse effects of our decision to follow or not or ignore good advice. Yet, we plant our flags in the ground, refusing to move as if bad health and a diminishing life are our God-given rights, for, after all, you ultimately die from something.

While it is true that everyone must die, it does not mean you have to live like the walking dead, being robbed of your vitality and living out a sentence that steals from the quality of life you may wish to have before death comes for you.  Resources on how to live a good life are all around, and I hope you absorb the great pearls that have been cast to you, and unlike the swine, not trample them under your feet.
