Is That What You Want To Do

Spread the love

Jeremiah 6 vs.16 (KJV)
Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, we will not walk therein.

A dear friend told me that when she was growing up, she always knew when she was about to make a big mistake that was going to cost her dearly.  She was a rebellious adolescent and still learned the hard way.  She recounts always arguing with her mother, who would spend hours trying to talk some sense into her, but no matter what her mother said she was intent on doing things her way.

My friend says now that she is a grown woman she can look back and remember the one thing her mother would say, that at the time she did not recognize was a clue to what was about to befall her.  In her mother’s words, she would say, “Is that what you want to do.”

We all have made bad decisions, and we all have paid the consequences of those decisions.  The truth is that most illnesses are caused because we refuse to heed wise counsel when it comes to taking our health seriously.

Studies have shown that four main culprits are driving the increase in the number of illnesses today.

  1. There is an increase in the consumption of fats and high cholesterol foods.
  2. There is an increase in the amount of sugary and processed foods and drinks.
  3. There is an increase in food additives, preservatives, and chemicals.
  4. There is a decrease in the number of fruits, vegetables, and whole grains being eaten.

Is it any wonder that the answer to fewer illnesses would be to go back to the basics, to find the old path and than stay on it. Has some symptom found its way into your life because you want to do what you want to do?

Have you been locked in an argument with your body which sends you messages all day by way of pain, indigestion, numbness, headaches, shortness of breath, skin outbreaks, on and on and on, and because you refuse to listen?

The body says, “Is That What You Want To Do” are you tired of experiencing the mayhem, diabetes, heart disease, COPD and high blood pressure. Why not make changes, if the lifestyle you are living now, brings sickness, anxiety, depression,  and pain.   Talk to your Doctor about getting a dietitian, someone who can guide you back to a more reliable path, after all, just because the trail is old, does not mean it is not useful. If the diet of a more simpler time was helpful in times past, it could still be valid today.
