I Need A New Attitude

Spread the love

Matthew 23 vs. 27 (BSB)
“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You are like whitewashed tombs, which look beautiful on the outside, but on the inside are full of dead men’s bones and every impurity.

Do you struggle with your attitude, do you spend most of your day angry, frustrated, distrustful, feeling like life is unfair, or that something is owed to you?

Is it hard for you to accept the responsibility of your own choices when things don’t work out as planned, blaming others?

While we have all heard the saying that attitude determines latitude, and this is mostly true, that your outlook on life can bold very well when you are faced with daunting disturbances in your life. However, there is another reason that you should take inventory of what’s going on inside of you.

The Pharisees were continually bringing attention to themselves with their intellectual abilities, their offerings, their clothing, and their well-rehearsed appearance of looking pious. The truth is that thing that they were always accusing Christ of was not his problem; instead, it was theirs. That error that you consistently find in others is your shortcoming.

A better way of saying it, the reason you have trust issues with all people is that you cannot be trusted. The reason you are so quick to find fault in others is because of your insecurities. Your unforgiving heart only speaks of your vindictiveness, your desire to remove a sty out of someone else’s eye, only foretells that you have a beam in your eye.

Why not take the time and start addressing some of your attitudes that have kept you stagnant in your efforts to live your best life possible, whether it be on your job or in your relationships, or maybe you need to adjust your attitude to help you live with yourself.

A new perspective may help you realize treasure never seen before. May you enjoy the search.
